Shea Shea Bakery Skincare Review

Hey friendship!

Over the winter break, I stumbled upon a cute skincare line called Shea Shea Bakery. It’s a skincare line that is 100% natural, and crafted by the hand. The most novelty part of it – everything they sell looks and smells like food. From pancakes to donuts to so many flavors of cookies, it is a beautiful selection to browse. If you’ve read any of my other blogs, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I love a great theme. I also love a great product and Shea Shea has both.

Body Butter

Pancakes

I bought the “Pancakes” body butter in 2oz (just because I didn’t want to invest if I didn’t end up loving it).

They come in various sizes (2, 4, 8, and 16oz). You also get the choice to have the food on top or not. I was a little bummed at first that the baked good replica didn’t come on top of all of them automatically. It bumps your $6 lotion up to $11 just for adding it. However, after a little research I learned that even the little food sculpture on top is handmade, so it makes sense you have to pay a little for art/skill. I think if you were a regular customer it makes sense to get your lotion with the cute (have I mentioned how cute it is?!) food sculpture on top, and then for future purchases, just buy it plain. And even though it’s only 2oz, a little goes a long way.

Let’s talk quality though. I got the butter formula over the creme formula.
Like most body butters, when you put it on initially – it kind of has almost greasy feel to it, but it quickly fades. After putting this body butter on – my skin was so incredibly soft and it fades into a really nice faint smell.

Also – pancakes flavored. Accurate. Smells like breakfast. Love it.
Would not have been against investing in it if I bought more than 2oz 🙂 Would purchase again.

Body Butter Sample Set

Next I ordered the Body Butter Sample Set. It came with 10 samples (Sugar Cookie, Cinnamon Bun, Ginger Snap, Almond Cookie, Oatmeal Cookie, Chocolate Cake, Watermelon, Cherry Pie, Cotton Candy, and Pineapple). Same great quality as found in the larger Pancake container I got. I thought online it didn’t give you a lot of information on how big the containers for the samples were so I put them next to a quarter for a visual representation. They are about an inch tall. You’d get a few uses out of each depending on how much body butter you use at a time.

Cinnamon Bun – I feel like this might be a recurring theme in this review, but if you’re looking for a cinnamon bun lotion – go no further, it’s this one. So accurate.

Ginger Snap – Quite similar to cinnamon bun to me, but the ginger makes it feel like a more sturdy scent.

Chocolate Cake – Good enough to eat really. Not a traditional lotion scent by any means, but the novelty of it is bar none.

Sugar Cookie, Almond Cookie and Oatmeal Cookie all smell pretty similar to me. It’s just Sugar Cookie smells the sweetest with the Oatmeal not having as strong as a scent and Almond falling in the middle.

Pineapple – I’m actually not a huge fan of pineapple scents/flavor in general. This has a real tropical vibe and if you are a pineapple fan, I could see you liking it.

Watermelon – So good. Reminded me of those sour patch kid watermelon candies.

Cotton Candy – Not as strong of a scent as I was expecting, but still 100% accurate, makes sense they called it cotton candy. If you’re looking for a more subtle scent, this seems to be the most subtle.

Cherry Pie – Reminds me of a cherry chap stick scent. Love.

I loved all of these. The lotions had such great, unique scents and so true to the advertisement. I could see (err, smell?) myself wearing the cinnamon bun one daily.

Other Products

One thing I haven’t bought from the Bakery that I really want to get are their candles. Shout out to how cute these are. I’ve been so impressed with the accuracy in their scent profile on their body butter, I’m hands down going to buy some candles from them in the near future.

I bought two more products from them:

I will be reviewing this in the weeks to come. My skin has really been a journey, which we can get to that in the next review. Pin this page so you don’t lose it if you want a full review in the next couple of weeks of these products.

All the love and regards,
Taylor
